Hythe & Waterside Rotary has made many donations to New Forest Young Carers, part of the charity Community First and are very impressed with how their latest donation of £500 has been used to bene t young carers from the Waterside area. Sue Ward, a support worker from Community First explained: “So far it has helped us to provide some extra sparkle at a Christmas workshop at Applemore Scout hut, panto tickets at Forest Forge, a group activity session in Calshot, transport for three Marchwood and Totton young carers to go to an activity day at the Avon Tyrell centre, and transport for two Totton young carers to go to an activity day at Beaulieu. We are so grateful to Hythe & Waterside Rotary and the support they continue to give us. It makes a real difference to the number of children we can help” New Forest Young Carers currently supports over 230 young carers between the ages of seven and 18 through one-to-one work, school support, trips and activities and signposting. Hythe & Waterside Rotary are delighted to o er nancial support to an organisation such as Community First. Can you help Fully Woolly owner, Claire Proud, by knitting or crocheting poppies to display around Hythe in June for the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings? Any size poppy accepted, red with black centres, leaves are optional, but please leave a long tail for attaching. Patterns are available from e Herald o ce and Fully Woolly. Please take all completed poppies along to Fully Woolly, just o the High Street behind Number 15 café.
