Many customers and friends attended a farewell gathering at Rowland Stores, High Street, Totton to say goodbye to Harry and Sue Patel who have run the popular local shop since 23rd September 1996. For 21 years they have been opening early in the morning until later in the evening and giving their customers a friendly and reliable service. Customers from all over Totton will miss the service they offered which included papers, magazines, cigarettes, confectionery and essential items as well as the delivery of newspapers and parcel returns service. Over the years they have employed many young people to deliver papers but for most of the time their son’s Dhruval and Kaushal took on this responsibility before going to school. They would get up very early in the morning to ensure all the deliveries were made.
