Each talk will cover a separate subject and provide information to help people make choices about actions they might be able to take at an individual level. All the talks are free and there will be the opportunity for questions and answers. e rst session is on Monday 11th September, 7pm - 9pm in Hythe and Dibden Parish Council o ces at e Grove, for a talk on ‘Low Cost DIY Methods for Home Energy Savings’ led by Mike Bundock. Mike was an electrical engineer who caught the “Eco Bug” and started to put theory into practice, slowly transforming his home into an energy e cient building. e aimof the session is tomake the Eco Bug infectious, and will cover heating systems and insulation (a key part of energy conservation), rainwater storage, ventilation systems and solar panels. On Thursday 12th October, again at the Grove from 7pm to 9pm for a talk by John Trim entitled ‘A year in the vegetable garden’. John is a former head gardener and horticultural lecturer. A designer of two Chelsea Flower Show Gardens and the author of the bestselling book for vegetable exhibitors called ‘ e Root to the Top’. John Art in Stockbridge e Wykeham Gallery recently opened its Summer Show which is running until 9th September, showcasing a mixed exhibition of gallery artists. e gallery is located on the High Street in Stockbridge. LIONS CONTINUE TO SUPPORT LOCAL FOOD BANKS Romsey &Waterside Lions Club have supported three local foodbanks for several years and since the start of Covid have handed over £3,800 worth of supplies for their clients. e latest food donation was to Romsey Foodbank for essential items to re-stock their depleted shelves.
