With over 290 venues open, in the ten days leading up to Bank Holiday Monday 29th August, visitors can get the opportunity to meet the makers direct and learn more about their work. e Hampshire Open Studios colour catalogue is out now with artist and venue details or you can now view the trail information on the new Hampshire Open Studios app, available on the Google Play Store or the Apple Store. You can also enter a prize draw to win £100 towards artwork from your favourite Hampshire Open Studios artist. To nd your nearest venue check the app, website or look out for the pink direction arrows that will guide you to the artists’ doors. Some local highlights include Aylsa Williams and Mandy Smith in Dibden Purlieu who exhibit paintings and bright, bold handmade prints and gi s inspired by nature, the landscape, changing seasons and architecture. Make sure to visit the Waterside Group at Hythe & Dibden Community Centre, 19th & 21st-26th August, they are a vibrant and welcoming local group proud to showcase their display, which includes a wide range of subjects in contemporary and traditional styles. This exhibition continues to demonstrate the extraordinary and varied creative talent found in and around Broughton. ere is everything here to please all tastes and interests demonstrating the outstanding variety of skill, talent and imagination that exists in their community. Annabel Eyres and Emma Christmas - Venue 39 HAMPSHIRE OPEN STUDIOS ART EXHBITION 20 - 28th August, 11am - 6pm Tiptoe Lodge, Middle Road, Tiptoe, SO41 6FX ANNABEL EYRES & EMMA CHRISTMAS Annabel Eyres is an artist and former Olympic athlete. Her work is inspired by the sports that she loves: rowing, swimming and yoga. Annabel trained as a Fine Artist at the Ruskin School, Oxford University and then became a graphic designer producing T-shirts, sports kit and homeware under the brand name Rock e Boat. Since lockdown she has returned to the New Forest, to the home of her Grandparents where she and her husband now run retreats which nourish the soul. She works in her studio there painting and producing innovative paper cut artworks based on her designs that have appeared on clothing in the past. She has coined the phrase T-shART -Art is Art whether on clothing or paper. Emma Christmas worked in the fashion industry for over twenty years including working with a women’s cooperative in India producing hand cra ed sustainable clothing which she will be exhibiting alongside her ceramics. Emma now works under the name Poetwear, a collection of charming ceramic pots which evoke the woodland and its diverse habitat for birds. Decorated with natural forms from the forest oor her pots and sculptures bring us closer to nature. Emma works in a beautiful woodland studio surrounded by the wildlife that inspires her. Emma’s ceramics are unique - shapes that can be used in several di erent ways, but in particular for ower displays when you ll the bottom and the top with water. And they are sculptures in their own right. is promises to be an exhibition of discovery and joy.
