On Wednesday 10th April, Grace Howard from Oakhaven Hospice visited the club and received a cheque for £500 as a donation to their cause. e cheque was presented by Sue Potter, Club Treasurer and Dave Renyard, Life Member and Match Secretary. On Friday 12th April the club held its Presentation & Skittles Evening at the CIU Club in Hythe, with a Fish & Chip supper. e ra e held that evening raised £56 and that has gone into the 2nd Oakhaven Hospice collection box. More fundraising will continue throughout the season. Waterside Short Mat Bowls Club has its home at the QEII Pavilion, QEII Recreation Grounds, ornbury Avenue, Black eld SO45 1YQ. ey play 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A free community engagement event, suitable for all ages. e event will bring together the various emergency services, raising awareness for the work they all do. ere will be vehicles, displays, activities and scenarios. is year’s event will bring together a partnership with Fawley Parish Council, Chas McGill MBE and Andy Headley who have organised the previous 2 events, the last one was held at Calshot Activity Centre. ey are looking forward to joining forces to bring this amazing community event to Gang Warily Recreation Centre.
