Two recent events in Hythe have raised over £1000 for Hythe Alive to go towards future community events and the Christmas lights in the village. In March, Waterside Mortgages in association with Hythe Alive organised an ‘eggcellent’ Easter Trail in Hythe, the Easter Bunny and an Easter chick were both spotted around the village on the day, with the event raising £900.40 for Hythe Alive. e event was a great success. Waterside Mortgages said: “Thank you for such a great turn out for Hythe’s Easter Trail, we are overwhelmed with the support and feedback we have received and already cannot wait for next year! Make sure you buy your tickets early - this year was a sell out!” In April Fully Woolly owner, Claire Proud, organised a Cra De-Stash event – a paradise for local cra ers, which raised over £218 for Hythe Alive! Claire comments: “The De-Stash was a brilliant event with a full house of crafters looking to sell and buy! There was an incredible range of wool, fabric, stamps, papercrafts and books. Thank you to everyone who came along to see us, it was lovely to chat to everyone Join Hythe & Dibden Parish Council in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on Thursday 6th June. e following programme of activities and events has been organised to mark the occasion: 8am Town Crier in Hythe Village Centre 11am Poems at schools (Not open to the public) 2pm Marc Heighway, talk on the Waterside during D-Day at the Library 2pm and 4pm Sarah Marsden, historical talks/walks on the pier 3pm-4.45pm a er-school D-Day cra s drop in at the Library 5.30pm-8.30pm ‘ e Longest Day‘ lm showing at the Parish Hall 7.30pm to 8.30pm Outside the Pier: Goodnight Sweethearts singing troupe 9.15pm International Tribute and Beacon lighting, view from the Pier During the event, please celebrate National Fish and Chip Day with a takeaway or a sit down meal in any participating eateries displaying the National Fish and Chip Day poster.
