For the 2024 event the golfers decided to raise funds to support a local charity and Solent Dolphin based in Hythe Marina was the chosen charity. Solent Dolphin takes elderly and disabled people for free trips round Southampton Water on their boat named Alison MacGregor in memory of a young lady who was killed in the Clapham Rail Disaster and whose family made a substantial donation to the charity in 1989. e current boat is the 3rd since the rst boat was launched in 1989 by Patron Simon Weston CBE and to date the charity has given enormous pleasure to over 130,000 people. Alan Blair MBE President of Solent Dolphin was present at the celebration dinner at Barton-on-Sea Golf Club and outlined the work of the charity. Alan was presented with a cheque for £1,550 from the golfers and Stef’s family and friends.
