A vibrant navy blue, red and white shirt along with navy blue below the waist, a move away from the traditional whites. Waterside Bowling Club would like to thank its members for supporting this change of kit along with two generous benefactors and ABG Scaffolding for their donation towards the new uniform. For more information visit: www.watersidebowls.co.uk Waterside Bowling Club members in the new kit Bramshott Hill Golf Club Memorial Scramble Bramshott Hill Golf Club based at Dibden Golf Centre consists of around 250 members covering a very wide age range with Juniors from as young as 7 years old through to the Seniors, some of whom are in their 90’s. e Club regularly play in 4 Sections, Juniors, Ladies, Men and Seniors and are always open to new membership applications. Every year the Club play at least 8 competitions that bring members from each of the sections together. e rst whole Club competition this year was the Memorial Scramble held on Easter Monday, 6th April. Everyone started at the same time from a di erent hole on the course – a shotgun start - and this year’s winners were Stuart Davison, Debbie Campbell, Ron Tupper and John Manning. Memorial Scramble winners: Stuart Davison, John Manning, Debbie Campbell, Ron Tupper New Forest Seniors 3, Ryde 2 e New Forest Seniors continued their early season success with a 3-2 home win over Ryde. is follows on from their recent away win over Amp eld giving them a played 2, won 2 start to the season. e weather wasn’t conducive to good golf with a 2 club wind and rain making shot selection di cult for every player. e a er dinner speeches by both captains highlighted the good spirit in which all the games were played and both teams are looking forward to the return match in Ryde. April Monthly Medal e New Forest Golf Club Seniors played their April Monthly Medal in a ckle breeze which seemed to shi to become head-on no matter which way they were playing! It was their rst round back on the full course following a prolonged winter period and the shock of an extra 496 yards o the white tees took its toll on the eld with only one player, Alan Milburn returning a score better than a nett par 69. Chris Angell won the nearest the pin competition on the di cult 13th with a top tier back of the green pin position. Left to right: Alan Milburn and Andy Godwin with their Division 2 and Division 1 medals respectively New Forest Seniors v Osborne e New Forest Golf Club Seniors carried on their excellent start to the season with a 6-0 win over Osborne on a day where all four seasons came in not one day but over a four-hour period. e win came hot on the heels of victories against Amp eld and Ryde. As is o en the case in Matchplay, the scores were up and down like a yo-yo in a li but a 7 and 6 win in one game followed by a 5 and 4 in the game behind provided the inspiration for the remainder of the New Forest players still out on the course. The Osborne team in their smart kit before the match 2nd Win-Sum League Competition On Wednesday 15th April Lymington & District Sea Fishing Club held its 2nd match of the Win-Sum League competitions at Hordle Cli . In dry conditions 10 club members signed on and braved a very brisk south-westerly wind and the shing was even tougher than the rst match with only 2 members catching sh. Results: Zone 1: 1st Andy Hopkins 1 sh a turbot of 18cm. Zone 2: 1st Pete Chamberlain 1 sh a bass of 28cm. Largest round sh of the evening was a bass of 28cm caught by Pete Chamberlain. Largest at sh of the evening was a turbot of 18cm caught by Andy Hopkins. Smallest sh of the evening was a turbot of 18cm caught by Andy Hopkins. 3-man team results: 1st team no 3 with 10 points, team no 1 nil, team no 2 nil and team no 4 nil. 4th Shingle Bank League Competition Results sent in by Malcolm Stote On ursday 26th March Lymington & District Sea Fishing Club held its 4th Shingle Bank League competition. e weather building up to the competition was very windy but on the day of the competition the wind dropped and it turned out to be a perfect evening for shing. 11 club members signed on and all 11 weighed in sh consisting of pouting, conger eels, dog sh and smooth-hounds. A total of 96 sh were caught, weighed, measured and returned as quickly as possible to the sea, for a total weight of 101lbs 11⅜oz. e 2 best sh of the competition were 1st a conger eel weighing 4lb 10oz caught by Rory Lancaster and 2nd a dog sh of 2lb 3oz caught by Pete Chamberlain. Results: 1st Ben Daniel 16lbs 10oz, 2nd Pete Chamberlain 15lbs 7oz, 3rd Rory Lancaster 14lbs 8oz, 4th D.S.
