We are on the B3055, New Milton to Sway direction. 100m After Crabswood Lane on left, we are the thatched house with thatched lytchgate on left before sharp bends into Sway. Michelle Dowle, Jeanette Walpole and Sally Havercro are excited to be participating for the rst time in the Hampshire Open Studios with a variety of colourful art and ceramics. Michelle Dowle, a new member of the New Forest Marque, is a fused glass artist focusing on designs re ecting the natural surroundings as well as capturing key memories and moments in time in glass portraits. Jeanette Walpole is a ceramics artist creating exquisite raku pieces as well as a wider range using other ceramic techniques. Sally Havercro is a watercolour and mixed media artist specialising in nature and seascapes inspired by her passion of birds and other local wildlife and nature. ere will be samples from other artists on display too. Parking is available in the driveway or on the road outside opposite Bartley Hall. e exhibition will be in the rear of the house which, as there is a few of them, you will hear from outside when you arrive. If you are out and about they would love you to drop by to see their work, have a chat and purchase if you want to. ey are open from 19th–28th August, 10am to 5pm. Artists in Woodlands – Venue 80 ‘Chris Made is and Friends’ will be exhibiting and selling their exciting Art and Cra s work during Hampshire Open Studios. e collective will include beautiful and colourful hand weaving and textiles from Chris-Made- is, amazing hand built stoneware ceramic products by Wobby Pots and stunning landscape and seascape paintings, greeting cards and small hand painted gi s from Mark Wheatley. ere will be on-site demonstrations too in a beautiful location! Chris Made This and Friends - Venue 40 Debra and Jill are delighted to exhibit again, their third year on the Pier! Go and take a stroll down Hythe’s historic Pier that recently celebrated its 100th birthday. Visitors are welcome to take a ride on its unique railway to the Waiting Room to enjoy a truly unique and varied art display. ey are inspired by the local scenery thus creating coastal and forest scenes. You will see a variety of art mediums such as acrylic, watercolour and pastel pieces. Other subjects include animals and ower paintings. ese are given a semi abstract twist or ‘artistic license’ as they dabble with di erent colour combinations. Last year they attended a workshop presented by artist Rachael Cronin as they explored abstract landscapes using di erent shape, line, high and low-key colour. ey have been greatly inspired and produced a number of landscapes using her techniques and look forward to hearing your feedback regarding their new pieces. Jill and Debra are dedicated members of the Hythe Pier Heritage Association (HPHA). A percentage of all sales will be donated to HPHA. e Exhibition will be open on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August, 10am to 4pm and Friday 25th, Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th and Monday 28th August, 10am to 4pm. Hall in Lunedale Road, Dibden Purlieu, from 19th to 28th August, 10am to- 5pm. ey have an exciting exhibition for you to see and purchase, ranging from woodblock carvings, paintings, cards and cra work. is year they also have an interesting selection of upcycled work for indoor and outdoor display. Come and see how creatively these have been developed. ey have a children’s exhibition this year and, as usual, their wonderful array of homemade cakes to have with a selection of drinks. You can also watch artists at work and view work by their professional artist John Edwards. ere is accessible toilets, indoor and outdoor seating.  ey look forward to seeing you.
