New Forest Transition also want to recruit part-time paid team members to organise and implement the HEAT project’s training campaign, its neighbourhood energy advice service and thermal-imaging service, and its energy events calendar. Cllr Geo rey Blunden, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability, said: “We are proud to be supporting New Forest Transition, together with Community Energy South, by providing £28,800 in funding from our allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. By supporting the delivery of this programme, we are ensuring that we are continuing to take climate action and working towards our aim of becoming net carbon zero by 2050. This programme is an excellent way to support our residents to both develop their green skills and improve the energy efficiency of their homes, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact this programme has within our community.” New Forest Transition Director Jonathan Blease said, “New Forest Transition are very grateful to be receiving this grant to expand the work we have been doing through our Schools Energy Project since 2012, and informally since New Forest Transition began in 2008. This will make a significant difference to the number of New Forest homes and communities we can now reach to assist and support them with saving energy”.
