A car enthusiast all his life, Lloyd bought the car - a ectionately known as Clara - in 1958 and spent many years doing her up, it was an absolute labour of love. In the late 90’s, Lloyd spent nine years completely refurbishing the car from the stripped-back chassis to the nal touches of the paints and leathers all by himself in his garage. He even had to remodel the garage part way through in order to have more space to work on the car. Once Clara was nally nished and Lloyd spent many happy years driving her through the Dorset countryside and taking her to county shows until he had to sell her in 2012. Bibesh, an Activities Coordinator at Moors Manor, found out about Lloyd’s passion for cars during activities sessions at the home. Bibesh had the idea to try to track Clara down so she and Lloyd could be reunited, Lloyd never believed it could happen. Bibesh spent over a month contacting many di erent car clubs until he found the Morris owners’ club and managed to nd out that the current owners of the car live 170 miles away. He contacted the kind-hearted new owners who went to great lengths to bring Clara, who is now called Muriel, all the way to Moors Manor for a grand reunion and to take Lloyd out for a spin! On seeing his long lost car again Lloyd said: “I am speechless. I honestly never thought I’d see my car again. This is such a wonderful day and I am so grateful to everyone at Moors Manor for making this happen and to the new owners who have been so kind to bring there car all this way for me to see her again. I am so very touched and absolutely lost for words.” Jenna May, General Manager at the home, said: “We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Moors Manor. Everyone here is so excited for Lloyd, there has literally not been a dry eye in the house all day - his reaction when he saw the car was just priceless. And then when he got to go for a spin! Bibesh did such a fantastic job tracking down the car and the new owners are just the kindest and most wonderful people. We have all loved being part of his dream come true!” Moors Manor care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.
