Sponsored by Peter Cooper Motor Group (PCMG), the annual fundraising event saw 19 teams compete on 18 holes for the Jim Monro Memorial Trophy against the stunning backdrop of the club’s grounds in Verwood. Players also had the opportunity to win a brandnew Volkswagen up! – courtesy of PCMG – if they achieved a hole in one on the 9th tee. Testing their golf skills on what is ranked as the 3rd best golf course in the South of England, the ‘CLC Contractors’ team were led to victory by their Captain, Nick Hilton, Managing Director of CLC. In second place were former victors ‘Oakmount Saints’ captained by Heartbeat CEO, Mark Ind. ere were also some familiar faces on Mark’s team, including former Southampton FC legends Matt Le Tissier and James Beattie as well as British racing driver and television presenter, Timothy “Ti ” Needell. Nick said: “To claim victory on such an amazing course with Derek, Simon and Tiff was a real honour and we’ll be back next year to defend our title. A big thanks to all at Heartbeat and Remedy Oak for a truly memorable day.” As the day progressed, guests enjoyed halfway house refreshments followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner, charity auction and ra e. Newly appointed Cardiac PEEER Youth worker, Becky Cutler, was a special guest on the day, and spoke about the importance of psychological support in cardiac patients, as well as her new position, funded by Heartbeat. Other guests in attendance included congenital heart patient, Matthew Cornick from Weymouth, who walked 122.2 miles for Heartbeat in 2021.
