20th June 2024 • The HERALD • Page 41 GET OUT & ABOUT WITH THE HERALD v 07906 530054 Open Monday – Wednesday 10am – 4pm Open Saturdays from May to October OLD DAIRY WORKSHOPS West 4 Foxpond, Lymington SO41 8DU (Behind Foxpond car wash) OUT & ABOUT Beaulieu Village Fete e annual traditional Beaulieu Village Fete is being held on Saturday 20th July with the grand opening at 12.30pm. anks to the generosity of Lord Montagu, the fete is held in the beautiful private gardens at Palace House in Beaulieu. e fete will be opened by celebrity BBC presenter Jon Cuthill. ere will be lots to do for all the family with a sizzling BBQ, bargains on the Bric a Brac stall, a Bottles stall, Kids Zone, Bouncy Castle and great prizes on the Grand Draw including an amazing 55” Smart Ultra HD television. ere will be ice cream, teas, co ees, cakes and of course Pimms and Prosecco. e event is being run by the Beaulieu Common Good Foundation, a registered charity. e fete o en raises in excess of £10,000 all of which goes to local good causes. Trustee Nick Hubbard commented that: “This event has helped us support some of the neediest in the area, particularly important in the current economic environment. Romsey Carnival committee have organised a number of events in the run up to the Carnival including: Summer Bingo on Monday 1st July PRINT & STITCH WORKSHOP Lepe Country Park has a Print & Stitch workshop on Monday 1st July. Create a decorative piece of work of your own design combining contact/nature printing, lino stamps, frottage, Indian ink drawing and stitch on to a material base. Material, thread, stamps, and ink will be provided (nonwashable ink). Family History Group A small group of enthusiastic people who love delving into your family history and nding out all about your roots meet in the back room at Soul Café, North Road, Dibden Purlieu (the Methodist church) usually on the first Tuesday of each month. (Not in August) ere is so much that can now be explored online, they o er a self-help approach but more experienced members are on hand to provide guidance. ey are always open to new members who are welcome to go along to see what they are about. eir next meeting is on Tuesday 2nd July at 7.30pm.
