A local Mum has recently launched a new website to help local parents to nd out what is going on in the New Forest for families. e creator of whatsonnewforest.co.uk, comments: “As a mother, I understand the struggle of finding plans to entertain the kids at the weekend. Quite a few times I’ve missed out on many opportunities that my family would have enjoyed simply because I didn’t know about them in time. That’s why I’ve created www. whatsonnewforest.co.uk - to help families like mine discover all the exciting events happening in the area. From festivals and fairs to outdoor activities and workshops, I’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest happenings. In addition to these, I am also planning to include more useful information for parents, such as baby groups, local hall hire options, and activities for the holidays etc. My goal is to make this blog a comprehensive resource for local families, providing everything you need to know to make the most of your time together. I will be updating the website and social media every week with Harlots, Dung and Glory, the History of Portsmouth - Part 3 New Forest and Waterside U3A hold their twice monthly meetings in St Andrew’s Church Hall, Dibden Purlieu. The last meeting before a summer break is on Tuesday 16th July, 2pm, Harlots, Dung and Glory, the history of Portsmouth Part 3. An amusing and interesting talk given by Andrew Negus. Tea and biscuits are available after the talk, and the meeting ends at approximately 3.30pm. New Forest and Waterside have many interest groups such as gardening, history, discussion, skittles and much more. There is usually a luncheon once a month, twice a year held at Brockenhurst College. Other activities have included a visit to Hillier’s for the lights, Lepe House open garden, theatre trips, garden visits, local brewery visit, snowdrops at Welford, the Hawk Conservancy, Arundel Carpet of flowers, the Waterside Heritage Centre, trips on Solent Dolphin. There are no meetings in August, but they resume on Tuesday 3rd September, when the talk will be about Islands of the Western Mediterranean.
